My paternal great-grandmother was Sarah Caroine Lee, her father was Thomas D. Lee. They lived in Edgewater, MD. I will have to go back and looks at my records to get the names of the fore-fathers to get the connection to the Lee's of Virginia. If you have any info on this that you could pass along, it would be greatly appreciated.

I finally figured out my Lee background. From my Mom I descended from the Rolfe/Pocahontas marriage via Lavina Hill. They came from Catherine Neville nee Howard who later became a relative via a sibling of Robert E. Lee. Lavina Hill was a direct relative of Pocahontas which I found interesting. My dad descended via Anna Gorges nee Howard so I was able to go full circle..Very interesting.

I am descended from Stephen Lee(1711 or 1715-1791) through his son Gen. Henry Lee (1756-1845) of Mason Co., Kentucky. Do you have any verification of where Stephen Lee was born or who his parents were? I would love to have this settled once & for all. Thanks for all your hard work.

You have a large group of Hughes unattached to any other people. I am related to the Slaters at the tail end of those Hughes. I am trying to trace John L Slater and his wife Frances of Virginia who settled in Upper Township, Lawrence County, Ohio. He would appear to be my 3rd great-grand father. Any ideas?

Hi Jacqueli, I am a Lee from Kentucky. My father has done a lot of research on our family. I am trying to find out more. We believe we are descendants of Richard Lee I, the immigrant. We also believe that our branch lived in North Carolina before moving into Kentucky in the 1700's. Your website is very informative. I would love to email you and see if you have some info that will help me.

Cathy Jo Gillice said:   January 26, 2011 1:26 am PST
So glad I found your site. I am descended from Capt. Charles Lee Sr. son of Richard (the immigrant) Lee and Anne Constable. Exciting to learn more about the Lee family!

Jacqueli, I was pleasantly surprised to find my query on your Lee site though no one responded as of yet. I mailed you the will of my Henry Lee and marriage certificate of his daughter Mary Willis Lee and Edwin Hord 1796 Woodford Co. Ky. I never knew if you had received them or my query. Do you post those items on your site? I wish you luck in being able to keep the web-site with donations. No offended at all.

Interesting. I'm descended from Robert Redden Smith (b. 1 Apr 1751) and Elizabeth Lee (b. 7 Feb 1761) through their daughter, Susannah, who married Grinsfield Taylor. I'll follow your project closely! As you know, following Taylors and Smiths and Lees through the history of the South is challenging.

Great website site. at family reuions they said the Lee's were our ancestry. I was trying to prove it for a year. I am on ancestry.com and followed the line back to Henry Lee child and date match. Does this mean anything?

My GGgrandmother was Martha Ann Lee who was the GGGGGGgranddaughter of Richard "The Immigrant" Lee. I too have had e-mails telling me that my line is not correct because of DNA testing ( which has been diluted over all these generations), I turn a deaf ear to them. I appreciate your tenacity in this project, I have found it very intriguing the more I search and your info has helped solidify my findings, thank you, Richard

What documentation shows this relationship? I am one of his descendants- through his son John and grandson Burrell who moved to Alabama.

Hello Jacqueli. I'm so excited to find your website! Am desperately looking for information regarding the parents of Roland Lee (b. around 1774, married to Kiziah Brammer) In particular, the marriage of a John Lee (noted to be Roland's father) from the 1700s. Some say he married a Sarah Jane Brazill, some say he married a Sarah Ward. Either way, I'm stuck in that link. There are two family stories that have been passed down. One that we are cousins of Robert E. Lee, and the other is that a member of our family at some point assisted Mary Queen of Scots. If any of this rings a bell, please contact me. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and good luck!

I am supposed to be related to Gen Robert E. Lee. I have Lee, Lea, French, Cleveland, Prosser and have not tied them together yet as to where Robert E. Lee fits in. They say Robert's mother and this mystery person were sisters ,but that could mean sister-inlaws.No Lee males for DNA. Frustrated!! Ideas??

Hi Jacqueli... Love your website! I have recently discovered my connection to the William Lee Line. The geneaology I have was prepared by my cousin Denzil Klippel from Staten Island N.Y. William's middle name is listed as Constable, obviously after his mother's maiden name. I don't see his middle name being used. Why is that? ......My connection to the line starts on my mothers paternal side.Sarah Ann Lee(daughter of William Lee and Sarah"Sallie" Younger) was my mothers paternal grandmother.I thank you for all your efforts on behalf of the family and will check your website frequently. Thanks
