Lees Of Virginia

Lee's of Virginia Guestbook Update 01/16/2012

For those of you that have posted so many of your questions about specific ancestors and individual lineages, I have decided to answer all of you as you have posted by designating a page just for your inquiries. You can now open up a discussion or genealogy question by signing up on the new Forum page.  This forum will give all of us a way to address specific genealogy questions and answers.  I will also be incorporating soon a website blog.   This will be more efficient than emailing you all individually as I have tried to do in the past, but I felt that if there are others out there with these same questions, they may benefit fit also by posting the answers and questions publicly.  Thank you again, as always for your posts and inquiries - and the continuous support you all have shown!  Don't forget to check back periodically, I am always trying to add information and new features to aid everyone with their genealogy needs!

Hello Jacqueli. I'm so excited to find your website! Am desperately looking for information regarding the parents of Roland Lee (b. around 1774, married to Kiziah Brammer) In particular, the marriage of a John Lee (noted to be Roland's father) from the 1700s. Some say he married a Sarah Jane Brazill, some say he married a Sarah Ward. Either way, I'm stuck in that link. There are two family stories that have been passed down. One that we are cousins of Robert E. Lee, and the other is that a member of our family at some point assisted Mary Queen of Scots. If any of this rings a bell, please contact me. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and good luck!

I am supposed to be related to Gen Robert E. Lee. I have Lee, Lea, French, Cleveland, Prosser and have not tied them together yet as to where Robert E. Lee fits in. They say Robert's mother and this mystery person were sisters ,but that could mean sister-inlaws.No Lee males for DNA. Frustrated!! Ideas??

Hi Jacqueli... Love your website! I have recently discovered my connection to the William Lee Line. The geneaology I have was prepared by my cousin Denzil Klippel from Staten Island N.Y. William's middle name is listed as Constable, obviously after his mother's maiden name. I don't see his middle name being used. Why is that? ......My connection to the line starts on my mothers paternal side.Sarah Ann Lee(daughter of William Lee and Sarah"Sallie" Younger) was my mothers paternal grandmother.I thank you for all your efforts on behalf of the family and will check your website frequently. Thanks

Need more info on "George" Henry Lee born 2 July 1737 Va. and wife Mary Ludwell-married 1759 Mason Co. Ky. "George" ? Henry is the son of Hancock Lee born 1709 and Mary Willis. My Henry Lee who died 1804 Woodford co. Ky. had a daughter Mary Willis Lee who married Edwin Hord. At the time of Henry Lee's death his wife was Frances with children: Hancock, Willis, John, Sarah, Nancy and Betsy. Mary Willis Lee Hord was not mentioned in the will but I have proof she was Henry Lee's daughter. Any help proving the marriages of Henry and wives Mary Ludwell and Frances would be appreciated. Jacqueli - Do you have a Richard L Lee in your Lee line that was married to a Jessie Ida Livesay - she was born 1-28-1917. They used to own a farm that later was sold and became part of what is now Dulles Airport outside Washington DC. Jessie was the sister to my grandfather, Arthur Benjamin Livesay.
