Lees Of Virginia

Lee's of Virginia Guestbook Update 01/16/2012

For those of you that have posted so many of your questions about specific ancestors and individual lineages, I have decided to answer all of you as you have posted by designating a page just for your inquiries. You can now open up a discussion or genealogy question by signing up on the new Forum page.  This forum will give all of us a way to address specific genealogy questions and answers.  I will also be incorporating soon a website blog.   This will be more efficient than emailing you all individually as I have tried to do in the past, but I felt that if there are others out there with these same questions, they may benefit fit also by posting the answers and questions publicly.  Thank you again, as always for your posts and inquiries - and the continuous support you all have shown!  Don't forget to check back periodically, I am always trying to add information and new features to aid everyone with their genealogy needs!

Need more info on "George" Henry Lee born 2 July 1737 Va. and wife Mary Ludwell-married 1759 Mason Co. Ky. "George" ? Henry is the son of Hancock Lee born 1709 and Mary Willis. My Henry Lee who died 1804 Woodford co. Ky. had a daughter Mary Willis Lee who married Edwin Hord. At the time of Henry Lee's death his wife was Frances with children: Hancock, Willis, John, Sarah, Nancy and Betsy. Mary Willis Lee Hord was not mentioned in the will but I have proof she was Henry Lee's daughter. Any help proving the marriages of Henry and wives Mary Ludwell and Frances would be appreciated. Jaqueli, Thanks for the invite! I began to suspect the Polk, Lee, Dodge connection a while back. I have to do further research to locate the links.

My father is a descendant also. I found your connection on Ancestry.com and have in fact, JUST printed the tree to be able to show him, dating back to Hugo de La Lea de Lee in the 1100's

Jacqueli - Do you have a Richard L Lee in your Lee line that was married to a Jessie Ida Livesay - she was born 1-28-1917. They used to own a farm that later was sold and became part of what is now Dulles Airport outside Washington DC. Jessie was the sister to my grandfather, Arthur Benjamin Livesay.

Hello Jacqueli, Further to "fascinating website. Wish I could do the same with my lineage." Are you related to Gen. Robert E. Lee? My ex-husband claims his family is so it makes my daughter kin.
